View MORTINI's food & exercise for this day

yay. i did week 5, day 3 of c25k this morning, which is a 20-minute run. it was about 20 degrees outside! I did it, and it went pretty well. The first 12 minutes or so went pretty well, then I had to start counting. I messed up & finished my audiobook last night and didn't realize that I didn't have any to listen to today (well, that I wanted to, anyways), so I ended up listening to music. Music only keeps me occupied for so long, so I end up being more 'impatient' with the end of the run. After 12 min, i started counting down from 60, but 2 counts took me to about 2 minutes, and then anther took me to about 20 seconds, and I counted the rest.

Not too bad, the furthest I've ran in ~15 years. :)

I finished listening to 'Silence of the Lambs' last night. I really enjoyed it, it was really really well read and the story itself is really good. I haven't seen the movie for a number of years, and I had thought that they'd done a pretty good job of following the book with the movie. But, I started watching the movie last night and found that it's kind of annoying. In the book, i never got the vibe that Hannibal was outright creepy, more latent creepy. Something like 'i don't like this guy, but I don't know why', versus 'that guy's creepy'. And, I think that the book Clarisse is *much* more intense and intelligent and attractive than what Jodi Foster played.

Today's my work from home day, I need to spend some time this afternoon working on cleaning my apartment - do dishes & put laundry away. Seems that if I do some of these things in the afternoon, it helps me have energy at 5, so I won't go and take a nap instead of staying up. :)

To add to charky's comment, I prefer audio books to music. I love to read and really don't have time, so this works out perfect! I just can't keep myself supplied :laugh5:

Do you check out from the library then download, or buy? I check out, then download, then STILL have trouble getting them turned back in on time :$ I wish they weren't so expensive to buy.

Great run today! :thumbu2: I know I was incredibly nervous about that first 20-minutes-straight run when I was doing c25k. Congrats! :rolling1: And I also listen to audio books when I run. You might be the first person I've found to also prefer audio books over music when running. :hi:
