Friday, May 1 2009 - where's the hummus

View MOUGHI's food & exercise for this day

Have you ever been asked a question the person asking probably knows the answer already ????? Tonight my my husbands asked if we had any more hummus when he looked in the frig. He knew I had been home all day laid out with from my back procedures of the other day. He also knew he had eating up all of the hummus ( :cry3: and left me none ). Grr, so, why did he ask me a question he knew the answer too ? Maybe he wasn't thinking, or maybe he was secretly hoping I had jumped out of bed today and ran up to the store and bought some humus, or better yet made some today. In any case, he tried my patience today when he asked that " innocent question. Have you ever been there and then had the sudden urge to want to eat something out of, well, anger ? I didn't eat anything this time, but I did politely remind him I was not in the position to go to the store today and beside he hadn't put my car back together yet as we had planned that this week he could take it apart since I would be out of commission this week and would not be able to drive any this week any way. He was silent on that one. I also pointed out to the ingredients on the counter awaiting my attention tomorrow. I plan on making some home made hummus and have set out the stuff for it already since I think I will be able to stand up straight tomorrow. Anyway, I think I got through tonight's agitation without reverting to my former ways. Yea, victory for me there.
I have logged my menu for tomorrow as I begin my diet tomorrow. I didn't really stay on program these past few days and have over eaten. I am making sure I get back to program by getting it in my mind what I am going to eat tomorrow.I always did best when I preplanned mt next days eating. Thus, I will try to do this as much as possible. I have been drinking more water than soda. I'll give myself credit for that change in my life too. I used to drink soda instead of water, now I actually limit my soda to a few a day and consider water the main drink. OK< I like my tea and coffee, but both are decaf.
Next week I should be able to start walking again, I hope. It all depends if the soreness and spasms in my back go away. Oh, what we will do to get up on our feet !
The new puppy literally is chewing up the walls She chewed up one of my corner to my window seals. This dog was even trying to chew my walls ! Ugh, how do you break this ! Trash cans, I can deal with, digging up my yard, I can deal with, but chewing on my walls, well, that is something else.

I had to smile about your 'question' question. It does happen to me to, so maybe it is a male trait? I hope you'll feel better soon.

Food - anger - demands ----- been there - had it happen - and ignored it. I now have hubby fixing his own stuff - so that I won't get the munchies. He has agreed and looks forward again to when I will start. He can give it up for me!!!

Dog - my vet told me that they crave the plastic and smell that is in the paint - you have to get him a chew toy that he likes - those plastic silicone type ones - and they will leave the walls alone. Put some beef broth past on a corner of the toy and when he starts on the walls - say NO and lead him to the toy - it works. Have you ever watched "The Dog Whisperer"? Really helps with training. I haven't looked for it online - but I suppose it's there.

Goof for you logging ahead of time - I love doing this, and adjusting it as I eat and cook. Keeps me in line - that's for sure. Have a good one. Kel :rock1:

I think communicating well helps us to handle the pent up feelings we get --easier said sometimes than done. I tend to hold in what I'm thinking and get angry, but I think it's better to think of a nice way to express what your feeling - "Why didn't you go out and get some you dummy ...." would not be a good choice. :laugh5: Sorry you are having back spasms. Have you been cleared to exercise - if so I highly recommend the walking, Lory. I think I told you before that I have had 2 herniated discs --walking is great! Sounds like you have a plan to get yourself back on track. :y: I don't have any suggestions about the puppy - I should probably learn since I want to get one - how about crating him when you're busy and can't watch him? Maybe because you've been flat on your back he's getting very bored....ask hubby to play with him!

Awww! Yes, when I am already irritated, Joe definitely seems to get the brunt of that. Usually, because he asks me a question he WOULD know the answer to if he LISTENED when I told him!!!//I hope you are able to get back to walking soon -- take care of you!!!//The bitter apple spray is a good suggestion, too.

Sometimes people can be frustrating - and if you're already not having the most ideal day - well I can see where you'd get easily aggitated. I'm very easily aggitated so I know lol. For your puppy get some bitter apple spray. Spray any places he likes to chew. THis is what I had to do when we got our dog as a puppy - he chewed EVERYTHING - the walls too! He found a place where he could peel the paint back with his teeth - made me so mad! After I sprayed it good with that bitter apple spray he left it alone.
