Today marks the third year I have traveled down this life changing path. Three years ago I walked out of Ann's office with my diet in my hands and the knowledge that I must change my life. went to the gym

I finally got back to the gym today and did two miles on the treadmill in 45 minutes. I felt ok. My feet hurt because the shoes I now have to wear don't fit as well as the athletic shoes did and don't have a bunion opening with mesh like the drews did to prevent rubbing. When I finally get the money for a custom pair of athletic shoes I am going to see if I can get those bunion openings as they were wonderful for my feet. Anyway, exercise felt good today.

back to walking

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there. Tomorrow my daughter will be making me a meal and then we will go see the Trek movie.

I was able to start back walking this week end in my neighborhood. I took the dogs and we have been doing around 1.5 miles each outing. I got Callie a Martingale collar to help with her tugging. The collar seems to work wonderfully since not only would she pull, but she would try to back out of the collar and jump up ant twist and turn to try and get out ...

taking more time

When I first started dieting I was taking two or three hours out of my day to plan and figure our how to put myself through my daily diet routine each day. This included planning my meals, logging them, figuring out the calories count of any dish that did not already have a nutritional count, blogging, figuring out my exercise cals, and counting my carbs since I was still on insulin. caught myself struggling

I caught myself struggling with food lately because I have had this innate desire to want to eat without consequences. This won't work of course and hasn't as the scale has shown. In the Beck book she goes into this when she talks about how life isn't fair for some of us who have to watch what we eat. It becomes a mental attitude more than the food itself. I eat the right things when it comes down to it now. I just want to eat more than my calorie count will allow or my exercise level is adjust...
