View OLDARMYMED's food & exercise for this day

I have determined that most of my physical ills (sore feet, high cholesterol, poor sleeping, stiff back, lack of energy, etc.) are a direct result of my weight. DUH!! Time to get down to earth and do what needs to be done. I had a priesthood blessing yesterday and re-committed to my goals. Here we go. Take it one day at a time, this will not be that difficult. Shoot, I quit smoking in 1992 and all I did was think each time I reached for a smoke. Transfer that to high calorie food and everything will be just fine.

The thing is, I like celery and salads. It's just that they are more work and hassle than unwrapping a Snickers bar. Problem solved. I can keep a pack of celery hearts in the fridge at work (this is where I do the most snacking) and stock the freezer with healthy frozen entrees. The down side is all the sodium but if I keep my eye open for lower sodium meals, I'll make it just fine. Afte all, I am not in this alone.

What a great attitude - yes, you can do this! By the way 16 children ???? Are you serious. When did you ever have time to eat?

Hi! Sounds like you are off to a good start. Take it day-by-day, post on the blogs and use the forums. The people on CK are awesome, they encourage and inspire each other, they truly understand what you are going through because either they are or have.

Keep up us posted and good luck!

P.s. My dad served in WWll so I must say THANK YOU for all the sacrifices you and family made so that we can enjoy our freedom today. I wish there was an emoticon that saluted...I will substitute a heart)
