One thing I am learning is that many of the low calorie foods I have previously not eaten are actually very tasty. I happen to like most vegetables and have yet to find a fruit that I don't like; I just never took the time to eat much of them because by the time the grease-burger and fries were consumed, I was already beginning to fill up. AND regardless of whether or not I left room for it (I love that phrase "left room," how many times have I left room for something that can kill me) I was not to be deprived of my caramel-turtle-cream pie, even if I had to eat it slowly to make sure it fit.
Solution to the problem: Eat the veggies first and then go for the protein. Skip the carb load and have a piece of fruit instead. Put the pie back in the fridge, one of the kids will eat it. In theory, this should work, I'll find out later today. And, yes, there are actually 16 children but that's a story for another time.

One of my favorite sayings is "If you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, then your are not HUNGRY". Like you, I try to fill up on those veggies first!

My downfall was sweets as well. Just make sure you don't skip the complex carbs, they are good for you and watch the fat-free or reduced-fat foods they are usually high in sugar.

Sounds like you have a good plan though.

Keep us posted and good luck:smile1:

Wow - 16 children. Can't wait to hear that story :-). I'm still learning to like vegetables. Apparently I have the palate of a 5-year old. So far the only way I love them (at least without a ton of butter or cheese on top) is roasted. Trying to take the time to have roasted veggies on hand.

Cheers
