So, I set out on a course to slim down and live longer. In addition to learning a lot of things about food, I've learned a few things about myself. First, and most important, I am stronger than I thought. Like many if not most people I have a less than commendable track record when it comes to weight loss success. However, I have learned that the past is irrelevant and the only thing that matters is where I am going. And I have full control over my destination.

Oh yeah, mindless eating. I do that, big time. I sit down in the recliner with a book, and I find my hand flopping about, reaching for the snack bowl. It has absolutely nothing to do with hunger or need; it's pure mindless habit.
Good job, identifying it. Now to work out some tactics to deal with it...
