I get a lot of personal epiphanies (sp? sorry) while working out:
You can't "lose" weight. That word implies carelessness. You exile weight, abandon it, kill it, fight it off with focused commitment. You can't "lose" weight. That word implies carelessness.
I guess that's why I fight, everyday, to exile what I fought so hard to get rid of 4 years ago, always vigilent that it won't ever return. Never. Never again.
Never thought I'd be powerlifting at 40.
Just did 2 snatches at 90 pounds.
Believe me, that's good enough for me. I'm in no rush and I have no need to lift heavy everyday.
People are always surprised when I share that perspective with them.
The turtle has become my mascot, my symbol for perseverance.

Who am I?
Formerly obese, breast cancer survivor, former CK graduate who started at 268, now 150, currently badass, powerlifting-at-40, trouble-making cheerleader of the boot-strappers, the over-comers, the kool-aid rejectors, the post baby body-reclaimers, the eaters and movers, the strong and powerful, and most of all, the critical thinkers.
I am back.
