Wow... A few weeks ago I came down with the flu, and today was the first day I've felt human - in close to a month! It's good to be back.
Today marked a new beginning, or rather a number of new beginnings, for me.
1. Started the Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred. DH and I are doing it together every night, and tonight it kicked my ass quite thoroughly. I had to stop and breathe a few times because I was so dizzy and out of breath, but I'm looking forward to seeing some improvements over time. Our 5 year old son joined in too, and the hilarity was overwhelming. DH and DS are both a healthy weight, verging on the underweight side, but can always use some good cardio and strengthening exercises. I'm happy to have their company and support.
2. I haven't had a cycle in 2 months, and before that there was a 5 month period of no cycles, so I've decided to start taking metformin again for my PCOS. I'm starting with 1 pill a day (250 mg) for the first week, 2/day for the 2nd week, and 3/day (full dosage) the 3rd week. I'm hoping the gastronomical distress is not astronomical this time around.
3. I've been reading lately that metformin causes low absorption and ultimately deficiencies in iron and B vitamins, so I've started taking a liquid supplement that just happens to have both in an easily absorbed form. (Floradix is the brand if anyone cares.)
4. I'm taking a multivitamin, an immune boosting garlic and echinacia supplement (no more colds or flu), an immune boosting tincture that's heavy on the cayenne (wowzers!), and maca root to boost my low libido. I'm also taking a calcium, magnesium and vit D liquid supplement before bed to help me sleep and ease some of my aches and pains in my joints and muscles (especially with the added exercise).
5. I had my hubbie take some "before" pics of me today. I'm wearing my pajama shorts and top, and had just woken up... but you get the general idea of my size and dimensions.
