Sunday, Jul 13 2014 - Quiet and calm

View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day

I love Sunday mornings:heart2: Its quiet and calm in my house right now, just me and two of my three cats are awake, the aroma of fresh ground coffee brewing is filling my kitchen. I'm enjoying the quiet, listening to the background of the window fan humming and vehicles whooshing by...it is so calming. Soon my husband will be up, we'll sip coffee and read the paper while watching a tv program that is short stories of news, current events and history. The host of the show is an elder gentleman who's voice has the same calmin effect as Bob Ross the painter and his paintbrush as he tapped the canvas painting his "Happy Little Trees."

Yesterday wss a great food day, I only ate four times, I find it a little hard to eat every two hours when I have my grandson. I made an awesome breakfast, a new healthy twist on an old favorite...I posted the recipe in the members forum as "Tried something new & yummy - thought I would share." Dinner last night ws pretty good, I made a Smithfield Peppercorn & Garlic Pork Loin (it was so juicy and low sodium), salad with romaine lettuce, baby spinach, Jersey tomatoes, cucumbers and a few croutons, french fries for the hubby and oven baked sweet potato fries for me...it was delicious! Last night I also got quite ambitious, decided to clean the bathroom top to bottom, and mop the kitchen and dining room...I had sweat dripping from me, forgot put on my heart monitor so I have no Iidea how many calories I burned. My jean capris were damp and hanging on me I was sweating so much. I would estimate at least 600 calories, the last time I used the heart monitor when cleaning the bathroom (I keep forgetting) I had burned 267 calories so I think 600 is a conservative estimation.

Didn't go anywhere with the grand baby yesterday, he was very tired and cranky...more teeth are coming in. He should be here soon, today I have to go to the store and get my supplies for the magnesium ccitrate cleans I have to do tomorrow, not looking forward to it but the gastroenterologist wants me to do it. Tonight is date night, very excited!

Because of the cleans I have toying with the idea of chinese food for dinner...specifically Gereral Tso's Chicken:heart2: My reasoning is I have to fast tomorrow with the cleans, so I should eat heavy today so its not so bad, but in reality I know this is not right. Partvof me is like oh goodie a free pass cause it will just psss through tomorrow but then the other part is screaming SHUT UP dont do it! :nono5: My next weigh in with Elle is on the 27th, I'm hoping to have lost at least 5 1/2 inches because then it will be a whole foot lost!

Well my little man is here...gotta go :wave1:

Have a great day

Shoe fitting, at least running shoes, is more art than science. If you change something "here" you automatically shift something else "there." In running there are diametrically opposed camps, the barefoot/natural running folks, and the traditional built up shoe folks. I'm pretty much agnostic and will wear what is comfortable and works. I'm not crazy enough to go barefoot and my experience with the built up all the bells and whistles shoes hasn't been great.

I also don't trust shoe store salesfolks much, at least not most chain stores. There's one specialty shop about an hour east of me where I think he knows his stuff. Otherwise I just buy online from a place that lets me run in them and return them if I don't like them. Lots of trial and error have taken place. The problem is that each of us has unique foot mechanics, some that need correction and some not. If you run or even power walk in a shoe that forces your foot into a position or gait that isn't "natural" for you then it doesn't matter what you call it (stability, neutral or motion control) you're going to have problems. Soooooo...ya just gotta find what works and/or find someplace that knows what they're doing with fitting.
