View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day
Good Morning and Happy FRIDAY to All! I am more convinced than ever that I have some nerve issues, be it damaged or pinched. Last night while training with Elle the first thing we hit was the plated leg press and while the weight was challenging I had absolutely no pain until I was walking to the next machine and on the fourth step with my right foot WHOA!!!! I felt a HOT sharp tingling pain in the right side of my lower back, it was isolated to the (excuse this description) bally bone right above the dimples where the lower back and the butt meet. Then as I tried to move it burst up my back like a title wave of hot, burning, tingling, pain, up through my back into and across my shoulders, over to the collar bone and down into the arms before pulling back and setting in my shoulders and the base of my neck. We just stood there for 5-6 minutes, me not being able to move, Elle concerned, me scared and then just as quickly as it came on, it disappeared except for a slight tightness in the base of my neck. I made the decision to try and do what I could, since the pain was gone, Elle cut all my weights and we only did the leg curl for the hamstrings, static lat pull downs (not the free cable pulley); reducing all my weights, some light modified ab work and stretching. The goal was more or less to see what I could do, not so much to work out. I was so frustrated because I was ready to go and my body isnt cooperating. And this was new, usually my pain is on the left side, NEVER on the right and I have NEVER experienced this before.
I have an appt with the GI Doctor this afternoon to discuss how the medication worked, well it helped move things through the tract a little bit but not much, I still needed to take other over the counter pills with it to help even slightly. So not a failure, but certainly not a success either but Im willing to try it for 3 months. Im going to ask her to please send me for an MRI of the lower spine and abdomen to see if there is nerve damage and or some kind of a blockage. I am 100% convinced there is a nerve issue going on, all the GI issues started when the sciatic nerve started. If she doesnt do it, I may go to the local group which is actually based out of Philadelphia that specializes in spines, bones & tendons to name a few
they are huge in Philadelphia and one of their surgeons was one of the first in the USA to do tendon transplants. I guess I need to wait and see what happens today.
Im very frustrated because my mind wants to GO, GO, GO and my body is saying NO, NO, NO!!! I know Im making progress and have lost weight but it doesnt make it any easier when Im in the gym all pumped up to have my a$$ kicked and I have the strength of a wet washcloth
.maybe my expectations are too high. Maybe I have to accept that I may never be able to REALLY do much more than I already am. See now the neggies are creeping in
shoo, shoo, go away!!!!
I am a work in progress and I am making progress. I have to stay positive and focused, Ive come such a long way and diet is 80% of loosing so I may just need to focus there. Well see what today brings. The up side to this all is I get the grandbaby later and he is always good for lifting my spirits
hes like the cure all!
So until tomorrow
I hope we all meet our daily goals and set ones for tomorrow
TGIF!!!

Does sound like nerve issues which I also have. Sucks. Big time! I sure hope you can get your comfort resolved. And yes, staying positive is important. But it sounds like you are. You're a real fighter! Don't listen to the pesky little neggies. Silence the buggers!

Yes indeed, Cindy, fight those negative thoughts. Please realize that the very fact that you recognize them is a major victory. Good going.
