View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day
Good morning. Its been a rough weekend, so glad its over. I went to see my brother who was in from NY, Friday night after work and ended up staying the night because it was too late to make the 70 minute drive back because I was getting tired. We had a great visit and I also got to see one of my sisters, my niece, great niece and great nephews and my great, great, nephew Logan. I had a great time but was exhausted, and left just in time to race against the coming snow, get to ShopRite and get home.
Then Saturday my best friend for the past 44 years (we were in diapers together) called to me her youngest daughter who is 5 years old (also one of my goddaughters) had been rushed to the hospital, then a team of specialists called in and transported to another hospitals childrens ICU because she had been sick with an upper repertory infection, had developed a high fever, and started vomiting and defecating blood. She is still there, they have no idea why or where she was bleeding from internally but it finally stopped last night, she still cant hold any food/liquids down for more than 20 minutes. Her other daughter is 7 years old and has diabetes; she has a high fever and unstable blood sugar with vomiting and diarrhea too. She also bled a little but then it stopped. I feel so bad, her husband has been staying at the hospital with their youngest and she is home with her diabetic daughter, 15 year old son and elderly mother taking care of all of them. They dont have a car at the moment so I had my sister (she lives up there) go to the store for fluids, food, medicine for her last night. She text me a little later that both her Mom and son are now saying they dont feel good. Poor thing, I feel so bad for her and wish there was more I could do. I recorded videos for the girls of my grandpuppies (Chihuahuas) playing and wishing that they both feel better. The dogs give kisses to the air on command so it was like they were sending kisses to them.
Its times like this that really bring it all home, make me thankful for what I do have and for those I love. I hope and pray for these little girls, her family and for a speedy recovery for all. Apparently there is a vicious virus going around up there that may be the cause but the hospital hasnt yet determined what is making her youngest so ill, they have rules out certain things but are still trying to find the cause. Today they are bringing in a pediatric infectious disease specialist to see her. Pretty scary stuff.
I didnt log any calories but I took pictures of all my food labels and have to go back and enter them
it just wasnt that important to me, I was more concerned about my friend and her family.
My positive thought for today
