View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day

Sitting in the doctor's office with my 24 yr old, she woke up with some sort of gel ball in her eye, she said it hurts like an overworked muscle and the entire eye is so swollen she can hardly see out of it. I had a similar experience in 09 that turned out to be allergies...hopefully that's all her's is too.

I have training tonight and I'm so excited about it! I'm not sure if it's because it was a balmy 53 degrees yesterday, giving just a hint of spring being in the air or that there is 14 weeks until our motorcycle road trip. I feel so energized when I think about working out, I imagine myself strong, invincible and kicking @$$...my own of course. I definitely feel stronger than I did a year ago.

the other day I was talking to a colleague about the exercises I do with Elle and when I mentioned the 16lb squats she said "that's too heavy". This is a person of normal weight, active regarding walking her dog, running kids to sporting events, etc. but she doesn't workout (weight train), made me remember struggling to lift the 5 lb weights when I first started. I use 10 lb weights for hammer curls and tricep kickbacks, 12 lbs each for the chest press and only use the 8lb for the squats cause of my knees. I have really come so far and I'm so excited to take this all the way!

I am really learning so much about not giving myself enough credit, eating properly and in moderation. I'm growing as a person, spiritually and emotionally. This has been the most amazing journey. Its funny how we tend to lose ourselves as we become wives and mothers, we put everyone before ourselves and in doing so I think that's how so many women lose themselves. I'm sure the same thing must happen to men as well to some similarity. Strange how I like who I am now but yet for years I wasn't particularly thrilled with myself, maybe because deep down I knew I had the potential inside of me all along and did nothing about it.

Update on my kid...She will be OK, the doctor believes it may be from her brand-new liquid eyeliner. Some of it may have gotten into her eye while she was removing it last night; she said she took it off because her eyes were starting to burn a little. Hmm makes you think, what the heck is in this stuff? She's going to be fine though. :)

Have a great day!
