View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day
I'm still here. Went back to work last week, exhausting and slow going. I'm still having some memory loss but it's not short term or long term it's very random and frustrating. I still hey periods of confusion followed by headaches but I'm having less of these episodes each day.
I'm still waiting on test results, as of now the CATScan, EKG, MRI and EEG came back normal and I'm waiting on the results of the Echocardiogram and Holtimonitor from last week. The neurologist said the spot on the mri was insignificant so that's good news.
Sunday was pure hell emotionally, I'm so heartbroken. I found one of my 12 year old cats on the floor in distress at 5am, we rushed her to the emergency vet hospital 45 minutes away, she was in shock , full reinal failure, fluid in her abdomen and bleeding from her nose. They said her potassium was through the roof causing the kidneys to shut down, she had gone blind from her blood pressure being up...my poor baby. She was absolutely fine the night before, playing, cuddling and acting like nothing was wrong. They said it could be a tumor, it could be numerous things. Because we loved her, we did the most humane thing for her, we let her go, so her suffering would end. She had just been at the vet 3 weeks ago and got a good bill of health, all our cats are indoor only, they don't even try to get outside. I miss her so much. All the animals seem depressed too.
It's all just too much...I feel so heartbroken...sigh

Sorry for your loss.
12 years is a long time and I am sure she led the good life. Sounds like you made the right choice, although I am sure it was a tough one.
