Tuesday, Apr 24 2007 - Garlic Bread Answer
View WEIGHTOGOCOACH's food & exercise for this day
Ok, I have been off of work for over 3 weeks now recovering from surgery. Yesterday I was CRAVING spaghetti and garlic bread something terrible. I am able to manage the spaghetti by using Dreamfields pasta and a very meaty homemade sauce. However, the garlic bread has always been a stumper. However, I found the answer! Wasa crackers spread with a tbs of fat free cream cheese and sprinkled with garlic powder... then zap in the microwave for 20 seconds and run a knife over the cream cheese just to incorporate the garlic. YUMMY. crispy & creamy all at once. Your total for this = 60 calories, 0 fat and 2 g of fiber. YUMMY

You could also buy "light" rolls or bread, spread them gently with brummel & brown (or another low cal butter spread) and sprinkle with garlic powder before toasting or baking them... the rolls are generally 70 cals each with 6g fiber, the breads are about 70 cals for 2 slices with 5 g fiber. Brummel & Brown & most lowfat butter spreads are 45-50 cals per TBSP - which spreads pretty far! Not quite as low cal as your idea - but just another idea
