Thursday, Jul 7 2011 - Be aware of the calorie content of the food you eat.....

Because you never know what you're going to get.
I had lunch at Jason's Deli. Just a salad but DAMN! I just tallied up my calories for that thing and even without meat or dressing it was still 900 calories. Can you BELIEVE that. IT was the kalamata olives, there 40 calories in just two......2 olives=40 calories. I put 8 on my salad. And I also had the cranberry/nut/seed mix....that has 143 calories in just 4 tablespoons. GAH!!!! They have these TINY, like as big around as a quarter, little black bread muffins. For three of those it was 270 calories!!!! I totally did NOT know this until I started logging them to here.
I rode my ass off on my bike today though, 30 MILES....at 1800 calories. I sweated insanely but it wasn't too hot out.
I came home and made dinner....I had low carb, chicken soft tacos.....I was SO freaking hungry when I got back from my bike ride......I ate three and was filled up. For three of those it's 600 calories. Which I don't think is bad for dinner. I hardly ever eat breakfast so I try to make sure my lunch and dinner make up for it. I just didn't know that salad was going to cost me so much.
I logged in my food and of course because of that crazy-assed salad I was WAYYYYYY over my calorie allowance but then I logged in that bike ride and I'm fine now....but I just CAN NOT believe that it was 320 calories for 8 olives....
I'm just so sad because I really LOVE those things.

I love Jason's Deli -- they have a special section of their menu with healthier choices (I think under 500 cals but am not sure what the exact cutoff is) -- it lists all of the nutritional info for each choice. The turkey reuben from that section is amazing!
