So I figured out something important this weekend...

That possibly a large part of my weight gain has been me overestimating the value of my exercise calories. When I wasn't keeping track of my calories I would do very rough sketches in my mind of my calorie budget... I would say "oh I worked so hard in that soccer game this morning, I can "afford" this plate of pancakes no problem..." and then later in the day I might say "I worked so hard at soccer I am sure I still have a little room for this cookie" and then in the evening "that soccer game was a lot more work than I thought, I definitely have room for a glass of wine."

But when I face the numbers - they do NOT average out as I would like them to. I learned that this weekend by keeping closer track of my calories and seeing just how much a soccer game "buys" me. Around 3-400 calories.

I had been doing really well on the no booze rule, but broke it really bad on Saturday... I went out with some friends to a karaoke bar and although I had decided earlier in the day to break my rule and leave room in my calorie budget, I went WAY over.

I decided to go for a long bike ride yesterday to try and off-set some of those added calories.

Tomorrow is weigh-in day so I am hoping I at least broke even from last week but it would be great to see even a 1 lb loss.
