The warm brown sugar tortilla and cinnamon apples mesh well, rendering a unique dessert - sure to be a hit!
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 3 mins
Yield: 2 x 1/2 tortilla servings
Lay out flour tortilla on a flat surface. Meanwhile, heat non-stick skillet on medium to medium-high heat.
Brush the tortilla side facing up with 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Sprinkle tortilla with cinnamon and 1 teaspoon brown sugar, brushing the cinnamon-brown sugar evenly on the tortilla.
Place the prepared tortilla side down in the heated pan. Repeat the oil, cinnamon, and brown sugar step quickly on the tortilla facing up. Flip over. Cook for about 1 minute on each side, or until crunchy.
Turn off stove. Place sliced apple evenly over the tortilla. Lightly spray apples with spray butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Let set for one minute. Slice tortilla in quarters. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Adding a protein source, such as low-fat/nonfat plain yogurt or cottage cheese, makes this recipe a more complete dish if served as an occasional breakfast treat.
For a dessert, top with a scoop of low-fat/nonfat ice cream, a dollop of low-fat whipped cream, Ricotta Cream, or Cashew Cream (see recipe links below).
