Ok, folks, it's been awhile.

But, I'm starting afresh. Gained a few pounds back over the last year, back up to 205 from about 195, but still down 20 pounds, which is nice.

I'm going to copy the format from my friend Mike, who is a big inspiration for me. He has lost 60 pounds recently, and really is consistent.

* Daily Exercise
-Running 3 miles @ 7.0
-5 pull-ups
-3 x 15 pushups, etc.

* Current Goals
-Fix Achilles heel tendon
-Knees are bothering me

3 mile run: 7.1mph, total time: 25:20 secs (YES! Finally in the 25min range!)
Pull Ups: 17
Push Ups - 45-> 50.

TSC Total Score: 243


Ideally, a super-fit adult male should be at the following stats:

3 miles: 18 mins
20 Pulls up w/out interruption
50 push-ups w/out interruption.

Here's how to calculate the score:

Each pull-up = 5 pts (total 100)
Each push-up = 2 pts (total 100)
3 miles = 18 mins or less (total 100)

Back on Track

Wife & I took a vacation to Los Angeles last week - Wed->Tuesday.

Amazing. We stayed at the OceanVilla Hotel right on the beach in Santa Monica, and then at the Loews Resort in San Diego. It was awesome.

If you go, do yourself a favor and splurge on a hotel room with a balcony facing the beach. It's worth the extra $$, and nothing beats waking up in the AM, having coffee on your own balcony facing the water.

I've been posting all over CalorieKing blogs about the benefits of resistance training over cardio.

I wish I could take my own advice.

I have a confession to make: I love to run.

I don't know why exactly -

-it hurts
-it makes me sweat like a shaggy dog on a hot summer's day
-it hurts
-it is painful
-I dread the pre-run feelings
