Well, I am working on two new ways of exercising, yoga and swimming. I love the water but have never been much of a lap swimmer. So I'm doing some laps and some water walking. Today was so hot outside and to go to the pool was a good idea. First day I went it was 6 laps (25 yard pool). Today, I made 8. Not bad. I got a yoga video. I am not good at prescribed movement. I tried aerobics once and felt like an idiot. So my idea is to get a little familiar with some of the poses and of the terms and then start going to classes. The swimming has a higher calorie burn estimate--and it makes my heart beat go up. The yoga is for core strength and balance. My DH, usually the soul of supportiveness, told me as demonstrated some of the yoga moves I'd been working on, "I think that's a good activity for you to do by yourself!" I would be insulted except that he never says anything mean spirited so I think he was being earnest. But talk about being not ready for prime time. What a blow!
I'm pooped because after all that, we came home and did the lawn all though it wasn't that tall and we all three worked on it, so it went fast.
