Sooo, had a talk with my best friend, who just happens to be a personal trainer, and explaining my woes of plateauing to him. I gave him the run down on my eating habits (which I thought were spectacularly healthy, considering the alternative and my history) and he said I was taking in too many carbs. TOO MANY CARBS?! I eat good carbs like bananas, and apples, and oatmeal, and nuts. Healthy right? Right! Just not conducive to weight loss like a more carb-restrictive diet.
So I'm reading the Atkins book again. It's been a while. And the thing is, I don't need convincing. I'm convinced. Just give me a menu and let me go! I'm ready to fly the coop!
So this morning made myself: 4oz egg white omelette w/3oz of carne asada and 2oz low fat colby cheese in a low carb tortilla. Done! Out this mutha! On my way. No more plateauing! (Sorry, I live in magic/fairy/your wishes come true land.)
For the next 2 weeks, I'm giving a serious effort at eating more protein. From shakes to tofu and everything in between. Wish me luck and stay tuned for updates!
