Saturday, Jun 7 2014 - My weight on the scale is just a number, it does NOT define me.

I love it when a plan comes together, yesterday I was hoping to correct a miscalculation of sodium I made wednesday and it worked! I lost an additional 3 ounces as well, I'm down 2lbs 7oz since starting CK again. I'm sure you're all thinking that's it???
Yes, but I am also working with a trainer 2xs a week and hitting the gym to ride the bike those days and at least 2 other days a week, usually riding 60 min/ 27 miles a ride. My legs are very big, my knees are bad and by pulling my knees in, holding in my abs and focusing on using the leg muscles not using momentum, I burn mad calories. Because I am building muscle and it replacing my fat, my number on the scale is changing slower but I feel stronger every day and my clothes are getting looser.
When I did this years ago my weight stayed the same for a month and a half but I was dropping inches like crazy. For anyone just starting out and has added excercise, as long as you're working your program, tracking your calories in and burned dont get discouraged...break out a tape measure. Remember the scall is just a tool, our weight is just a number, it does not define us!
Today I get my 7 month grandson DJ all day today and its beautiful out...maybe we'll go for a walk in the stroller on the walking trail today. The stroller weighs 30lbs and he is 20lbs, so that would be pushing 50lbs for a few miles...what a great way to give him fresh air and for me to get excercise right!

No LOL the stationary bike in the gym...outside I would never make it that far! I usually load up my ipod find a pop music station for energy and try to keep up with the beat...it helps immensly. I pull my knees and abs in, bear down, head slightly up just enough to see the tvs on the wall and pump it out. On my trainer days I go a little easier and just do fat burn, I need to leave energy to get my butt kicked

I totally plan out all my meals ahead and record them the night before, it helps me stay on track. I usually have the same snacks during the week cause its easier to copy to the next days diary and convenient for the office.
I too am an emotional eater but by planning ahead I dont do as much damage, maybe cause I feel more in control of my life than I did before. Trust me I have a high stress job and I'm on call 24/7/365 I get stress and im learning to cope differently. I hope this helps and don't give up you'll find your honey spot too!

That is truly impressive...
I am not a great bike rider; I just learned how to ride a bike at age 43 last year..the longest distance I've ever ridden was 9 miles..and I fell twice..
Congrats on the inches lost..that always made me feel good. I'd like to get there again and then more importantly work on the definition.
My diet and calorie consumption is the monkey on my back that I need to throw..emotional eating is my biggest nemesis..but I'm determined to find a way to keep it at bay.
Again..great job!
