View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day
Good morning! It's a late morning for the grand baby today to I'm enjoying some alone time with the hubby, reading the paper, watching Good Morning America, sipping coffee and just being. There's a chill in air this morning but the high is supposed to be 78 today. I think I'm going to take the baby to the park or for a walk on the rail trail it's going to be a beautiful day! At some point I have to go but a baby shower gift for my great niece to welcome my soon to be great, great nephew! Another baby in the family, so exciting yet sad because mom isn't here to see and it's just another reminder if the circle if life. She would have been so happy for them, they were very close, I'm going to make a little packet, box or something of all the home remedies, tips, words of wisdom she gave us over the years regarding children, patience and being a parent...I think it will mean a lot to him.
I went to the GI doctor yesterday and well on the medicine for a 3 month trial to see if it helps long term and she put me on a strong prescription strength probiotic specially formulated for dietary management of IBS or ulcerative colitis called VSL#3 The Living Shield; she said I can get the at costco pharmacy with out a prescription but I have to ask the pharmacist for them and since they have to be refrigerated get them on the way out. I also have to see the physical therapist who specializes in the pelvic floor and such. The Dr explained more to me about how it's all connected and she agrees there may be a nerve issue, particularly the nerves that control the muscles in the pelvic region, bladder and colon. She said if the nerves are shorting it can cause weak muscles that can cause all kinds if issues such as falling bladder...seriously.
She said I could have a blocked valve and scared me a little because she said one if the signs of colon cancer is major change of the bowels such as constipation. My Aunt (Mom's baby sister) has colon polyps and has had lung cancer but never smoked, I used to smoke and I'm embarrassed to say 2-3 packs a day for over 10 years...I quit 14 years ago. I'm not saying I have cancer but I won't say it didn't pop into my mind for a hit second either. So she won't order the MRI because what she needs to see won't show up, she will probably do a CAT Scan so I have to call the Chiro and have him order the MRI. I'll call the PT today and make my appointment I just need to get back to normal and no one ever died from embarrassment so it's time to quit acting like a baby and take care of my business.
Well I'm off to mop and then shower before the baby arrives.
Have a great day and stay strong!
