View THEFATCHICK's food & exercise for this day
It's 5/30 Am and once again I can't sleep, I guess I'm still adjusting to the time change.
Yesterday with the Grandbaby was a blast! He is so funny, he has a BIG personality for such a little guy. He's such a happy baby. He's coming again today. Next week I don't have him at all but my daughter and I are probably going to take him for Christmas pictures so she has them in time for Christmas. I'm so excited about Christmas this year, he loves thrashing newspaper, I can hardly wait to see what he does with all that wrapping paper.
We bought a new Christmas tree, it's a little smaller, thinner than ours but I don't have as many presents to buy anymore. I love Christmas, not so much the trees cause I'm highly allergic to Pine and can't breathe. I love the gift giving; searching for the perfect gift for the recipient, something I think fits their unique personality, wrapping it with care and dressing it with beautiful fresh holly, short bread, or bells and wired ribbons with cascading curled tails. The presents are wrapped with such care, I love the expression on their faces when they see the care that went into their gift; I've been told how it makes them feel special and makes the gift all that more personal. I love putting together baskets that have a theme too, like two Lenox holiday mugs and then gourmet coco, flavored stirring spoons, teas and tea biscuits.
I love the giving spirit of Christmas; I'm a giver so I get to unleash that passion for the holiday. I already started my shopping and can't wait to wrap and give; my gift is the smile and joy I see on their faces, this is my holiday, I'm not much for decorating the tree ( I have no patience for it and my husband loves that part) or decorating the house but I coordinate my wrapping paper so my tree pops with colors and prints and I'm all about the giving and presentation of the gifts.
I have Christmas on the brain because I received the lists yesterday for three kids my friends and I sponsor.,, we are the Christmas Elves. These kids give back to the community all year through 4H, church and scouts, they have little and deserve it. They are also my niece's kids and I've been doing a little something for them (an extra gift or two) for years but last year when their mom was taking care of my mom after the stroke and they had to give up some activities and had people in the house all the time it was hard on them. Last year my friends wanted to help make Christmas special so we shopped until we dropped, wrapped until our backs killed us, I made two trips up to deliver presents and we wrote an anonymous letter from the Christmas Elves that because of how they give to their community all year long we wanted to give back to them. They received clothes, books, music and a few items that pertained to their hobbies. My Niece is a divorced single mom of 3 whose ex is a deadbeat dad and hasn't paid child support in years but the state he lives in wont arrest him for it, he would have to be pulled over for a traffic violation, he works off the books so he can beat the system. So yeah I help when I can and it makes me feel good inside too.
Well it's time to get up and get ready for my Grandson, my joy,
Have a good Sunday everyone!
