View YEWTREE's food & exercise for this day
I've been playing in the forums, and that is fun and important, I think, to make friends on the journey and share the ups and downs of it. But I realize this morning that everyone doesn't want to hear of my every change and decision and mouthful and step taken. Not that I do either, so much, but I do want to remark on steps of my journey. My blog is the place to do that, where folks can look and read if they like but they don't "have to" quite like in the forums.
I checked my account settings this morning. Last week I thought that my calories are set too high, because I haven't been working as much and so I'm not moving as much. I had cataract surgery in December which precluded me from my exercise of choice, water aerobics. And though I'm supposed to be resolved to walk
at least 10 minutes a day, I've been quite lax about getting out there at all.
Which is a shame because our weather these last days has been just lovely -- lovely! After the fierce December we had, I should be just bouncing about in this sunshine. Should I change my mind about exercise and the outdoors, I would be so much healthier for it. I'm tryin'!
Anyway, I changed my activity level to the one above bedridden. My daily activities really do not need 1600 calories a day, or even 1550! Starting today (1/19) my calorie level will be at 1400 calories. I'm glad to have had the "practice" of counting calories, seeing exactly how much I am consuming and beginning to make an effort to be within calorie range. Now I will work at the tighter calorie level and see how that goes.
Wish me luck!
