I'm trying to blog regularly about my dieting journey, but to do that I must come here before I allow myself to go to Community. My Calorie King experience is to log my foods, complete a "school" session (i.e., I just completed Silver 4, #1), then blog, then chat. This might work. I mean, this will work.
Beck Day 4 is "give yourself credit." I learn:
Give myself verbal kudos, silently or aloud -- that was great! way to go! good job! you did it! you did it again!
Use the terms "helpful eating behavior" or "unhelpful eating behavior" instead of good/bad judgments.
Slip up? Make it up! That is, when I do an unhelpful eating behavior, I tell myself, "OK, I ate something off my program. So I won't eat the --- at dinner (or whenever)."
Reflect on each meal: e.g., credit myself for my helpful behaviors, acknowledge unhelpful behaviors and reassure myself I am learning to choose differently.
Give myself stars for to-do list completions, rather than cross-off or check-marks.
Oh, yeah, this is good!
