I haven't properly exercised in the last two weeks. I know I have a few friends who might be aghast to read that, friends who run/exercise/Wii to the max. I really admire those folks, but I also accept that I'm not one of them.
When we went camping weekend before last, I climbed hills to get back to camp from the beach or to get to the easy trail (!!!) (see attached photo of easy trail) and I woke up muscles which may never have been wakened before. So that meant muscles and joints hurt at the top limits for the week after that. I don't know what it is with me and pain, if my pain threshold is different from others' or if my tolerance is just different or if I'm God's little sissy, but there you go: if I'm hurting, I'm sick, I'm stopped, I'm done.
So I was recovering that week. Then last week we had temperatures from he!! or from Georgia, whichever is hotter.

Having spent 30 years now in the Pacific Northwest, I am unacclimated to high temperatures and I sweat more than I used to and I cannot stand the sweat drops running down my face, they feel like BUGS! All those things, plus I was having dizzy spells last week, due to heat or fans blowing in my face all day and night or whatever, and going out to the heat, even just to cross the asphalt drive between the park garage and the pool, seemed dangerous to me.
Now someone is saying, "But, Yvonne, you could have gotten onto the treadmill downstairs," but don't pick nits!
I can
so talk myself out of exercising. I've never exercised mucht, never been athletic or outdoorsy or even a participant-type. Now, don't you know, I am SO proud that I'm doing water aerobics -- at last -- at this point in life (I ain't dead yet!). I can feel my body strenghthening and standing straighter and SLIMMING DOWN! I am looking forward to getting back to the pool today. I miss my movement -- amazing!!
Eating right is becoming more natural too -- I still lost 1.1 lbs in each of the last two weeks. I know that I really have to be sure to get back to my exercise and pay especial attention to calories this week, because two weeks like my previous two can catch up with a person and put the pounds on today when it didn't back when you were misbehaving. But, with the guidance of the Goddess and the Spirit, this will be a "back on the road again" kind of week!

Thanks for visiting my blog!
:smile1: || The results of exercise are the only thing that keep me exercising. 90% of the time I'm not enjoying myself while exercising but 100% of the time I'm glad I did after I'm done! I try to do things that I enjoy (walking the dog, yoga) but I also try to do things that I don't enjoy but are good for me (running, strengthening).

I'm not an exercise person either. The gym at work is free...do I go. Absolutely not. So I park my car further away. I'm now walking up a few flights of stairs, then take the elevator. Things like that. I won't even get in the pool. At least you're doing that! Like Kelose said, you are exercising. And you'll be surprise of how much that will do even if its for a short time. -- CJ

Oh yes, forgot to say: All the exercise my tiny little size 2 daughter does is water ones - she does 14 to 16 laps 3 times a week. She lost all her celulite and about 8 pounds which is HUGE for her 115 pound body. I was shocked when I saw her in a bathing suit yesterday - and that's just a WATER WORK! So you are doing fine with exercise if you are swimming - GFY Kel

Hey what do you mean you aren't exercising - Water exercise IS EXERCISE, so you see that's also why you lost weight. Hey the heat is enervating, I know - I have Fibro Myalgia and if I get in 98 degree weather I am zapped and have no strength to even lift my Iced Tea. So don't forget weather controls YOU and you can't do much about it. Keep up the good BRAIN work that you are doing and be hapy with all the pounds that have been flushed away. Hugz Kel
