1200 is hard

Wednesday, August 12th 2009

Well, I came back from vacation and went onto 1200 calories. Twelve hundred is hard. It just doesn't take much to reach it. I know I will get used to it. I always do, but right now, I'm just feeling it. And it's starting to get dark earlier; harder to get outdoor exercise in before the sun sets. That brings up anxiety about how hard it will be to exercise when the school year gets rolling. (School started today; first day with kids was today.)

All that worry and no solutions. Take i...

Back from vacation

Friday, August 7th 2009

Well we went to Colorado for a short vacation, did a day hike and spent time putzing around in Denver. As all Coloradoans know, the state is beautiful. And you have great restaurants in Denver.

A general concensus seemed to be that to be fat was a choice and someone who made those choices shouldn't be in a visible policy position. A POLICY position. She's not running for Miss America. ...

swimming

Tuesday, July 14th 2009

Well, I am working on two new ways of exercising, yoga and swimming. I love the water but have never been much of a lap swimmer. So I'm doing some laps and some water walking. Today was so hot outside and to go to the pool was a good idea. First day I went it was 6 laps (25 yard pool). Today, I made 8. Not bad. I got a yoga video. I am not good at prescribed movement. I tried aerobics once and felt like an idiot. So my idea is to get a little familiar with some of the poses and of the ...
