Has anyone ever planted a tomato plant upside down? Here is a photo of one I planted in a 2 1/2 gal bucket about a month ago. It is a "grape" tomato. Already covered with blooms and a few green tomatoes. Since then, I've planted another " patio" tomato plant and cucumber seeds in the top of the bucket. They also are coming along nicely. I think it will be interesting in another three or four weeks. A hanging compliment of veggies. It does require a lot of water.

Hey Jim! I just want to double check this because I know that you recieve your blog posts. I just sent you an email (CK email) in response to you asking me if I was receiving your private messages. But, because you asked that, I am not sure that you are indeed receiving my emails back to your private messages. Let me know if you are receiving from my end (I do receive your email, BTW). . . . I hope that you enjoyed a good day, Kristen!

Is the plant close enough to the ground so that it can rest if it gets too heavy? Have a great weekend Jim!

Hi Jim
:) Well, that's interesting (kind of like a garden conversation piece?), but, yes, it will be interesting when it gets heavy with ripe veggies--I guess that you have to eat, eat, and eat your veggies to keep it light enough to stay in the pot (good strategy!)!!! BTW, I hope that my last two blogs didn't scare you away (I've noticed that you haven't posted there)! OH!, and I see that what looks like your woodpecker from the other day (?) has gotten his food again!!! But, he still looks like he is contemplating a little about it
:) ! Take good care Jim! Wishes for love, beauty, and joy to you this day, Kristen! (I wish that I had all the smilie faces memorized!)

Very interesting. It must get heavy with the tomatoes on it, and then the cukes on top! I should have called the police yesterday, too....my grandson had the same issues.
