Phase 2 of the South Beach program is the target part of the program...this part will get you to the point where you want to be. It allows more wiggle room to create with your food. Whole grain bread and pasta are allowed in controlled amounts and fruit is now encouraged. It's hard for me to believe some of the things I am eating are even "legal". It's restaurant quality food and it really is good. When I smell pizza, or baked goods my mouth still wants it...but I am able to compromise with something that is more tantalizing an healthy. On phase 2 I am allowed to have some baked goods (limited quality and quantity). These things I will bake myself following recipes in the SB Cookbook.
I'm feeling better everyday and I find I am willing to push my self harder to newer exercise levels. Today I could actually get up and down the stairs at DH's work and I didn't feel like I was going to die in the process.
