Friday, Oct 22 2010 - 8 days sober from potato chips...

View HALE612's food & exercise for this day

So on Oct 13th of 2010 while making myself a turkey sammy I picked up the tube of Pringles whole wheat sour cream and onion chips which had a couple of servings left in there. Dumped the balance of the tube on my plate, sat down and savored every bite of those chips. Now on Oct 22nd I’m 8 days sober from chips. I don’t own any potato chips nor do I plan to buy anymore. Now this is huge for me since I was a bit of a connoisseur of all things white potato especially fried. I enjoyed them from a tube, bag, or box; fried or baked; and especially from the vending machine with sausage biscuit for breakfast!!! This, of course, will be an on-going battle.

I have really been trying to cut out all processed foods in my life. The result of this nutritional transformation has been overall feeling of better health. I used to have acid reflux almost daily. Recently, I have not had any reflux or stomach pains in almost 2 weeks. Today I innocently brought a can of Progresso soup for lunch. It’s cold and rainy here so it seemed like a logical and nutritionally sound choice. And I had a lot going on around lunch time so something I could consume quickly also worked. Well let me tell you the stomach pains and acid reflux are back in full force this afternoon. One can with two servings of Progresso Light Chicken Vegetable Rotini!!! As soon as I get home the 3 other cans I have are gone. Feeling like this just isn’t worth it.

Wow…what a day already! So I’m working on the inside as I also work on the outside. “Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!”

I hope everyone is having a great day. The weekend is just around the corner on the right.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

I love that, 8 days of sober from potato chips :) I've been that way with ice cream this week.
