YORKVILLE's Story
Onto the next chapter...
This is my second time on Calorie King. I closed my account about a year ago after a very successful year losing 110 pounds. It was the most transformative and challenging year of my entire life.

I went from my highest ever (known) weight of 265 lbs down to a trim and toned 155. I had spent my entire life chubby and for the first time I had to invent myself as a slim version of myself. I had to learn to be someone who didn't stand out because of her size - I learned to love exercise. I learned to stop myself from emotional eating. I learned to manage my calories without ever starving myself or over-exercising. I learned to be healthy.
In the last year away from Calorie King I have done a decent job of keeping the weight off. I knew the statistics when I went into maintenance - the large majority of people who lose a lot of weight will regain all of it within 3 years. I knew the odds were against me, but I was confident and doing a pretty fine job.
But in the last 6 months particularly my life has gotten really busy... lots of positive but also a lot of challenges. I had gained about 10 pounds before Christmas but have now added another 15. It's time to reverse the math.
I am viewing this as a new chapter. I cannot view weight loss the same way I did the first time because I am not entering weight loss the same. I have new mental barriers, new habits, new physical factors (such as injury), and am coming from a place of slowly deteriorating maintenance after almost a year of being the same size.
It will be hard work, but I am up for it! I am hoping within the next 6 months I can come back to this blog and say - "I DID IT, I MADE IT BACK TO 150 and I'm going to keep working to stay here!"
