Thursday, Jan 5 2012 - Happy New Year
View RMONTES8's food & exercise for this day
Hey Everyone!
I'm a bit late considering most people posted their happy new year messages a few days ago but I'm here, I'm back and I'm motivated. I turned 30 over the holiday season so my eyes are definitely a lot more opened up when it comes to finally getting myself to a healthy weight. It's time to drop all the excuses and just put in work. I spend 2011 fluctuating weight all year, dropping 23, gaining 25, etc. I'm done with all of that. I'm not a big fan of the resolutions that everyone uses in January but I have found my desire to improve and am doing just that. I spent my bday and new years on a trip to New Orleans. What a great city! Before you ask, yes I did eat a lot. However, my hotel was about a mile outside of the French Quarter and we walked everyday so I put in a lot of miles. Final results? I came back home to Orlando 3.5 pounds lighter than when I left. Success right there.
Since I've been back, I've already logged in two good workouts. A 2.9 mile walk/jog on Monday, and a P90X session yesterday. Today I'm going on a 2 mile walk with the girlfriend after work so I'm definitely taking advantage of my free time before grad school starts back up again.
Just wanted to take this quick moment, to thank people who have commented on previous blogs and sent me messages. Appreciate all the support that this community offers and am excited to share a positive journey with you all this year and going forward.
