View SAXONHARP's food & exercise for this day
Yesterday eating was OK. I was good on calories and a little high on sodium and fat. It was a busy morning so I grabbed a few pre packaged things and it is amazing how much more sodium there are in these. Whole wheat bread has a lot more sodium in it too. For breakfast I have started eating wheat berries, steel cut oats, etc for breakfast and it barely puts a dent in the sodium but add a slice of bread and boom 250 grams. I know 1 piece of bread will not prevent me from losing weight BUT you do need to be careful as it will add up.
After work I did not grab as much sugary carby stuff, yeah. I went ahead and just had my dinner right when I got home since we were just having leftovers. That helped a lot. so that helps give me a plan. I think when i get home I will have to plan to sit down and eat a snack before dinner to help me from grabbing stuff from the pantry.
My weight is sticking at 226.5. Was hoping to see a little bit more of a drop since I have been doing much better with the eating BUT this is a work in process. If I keep a 1.5 pound drop this week that will be a success. We will see on Monday.
My only worry is that I have to work this weekend. We have to fly to Chicago. Lunch will be what the hotel provides and then we always go out for Chicago pizza. This is where life just comes in. My plan is to make the best choices where I can. I will bring some of my own snacks to help if the lunch does not have any good options. I am not going to waste calories on a nasty hotel lunch. BUT Chicago pizza....worth it

I just need to eat nice and slow.
I also need to fit in an 11 mile run. I don't have to be at the airport until 7:30 tomorrow. I think I am just going to run what I can in the morning tomorrow before I leave. Luckily I am building my base right now so I am thinking if I come up 2-3 miles short this weekend I will be just fine. Because after this weekend it will be 12 miles and up (unless I have a race scheduled).
Have a great weekend.

How was Chicago? I think you are being very realistic about the trip - some food is worth an occasional splurge in my opinion especially as a once in a while treat. I'm sure you will do great.

Hope you have a great time in Chicago! What are your normal ranges for sodium, etc?

Will you have time to run in Chicago? There's some awesome views of the lake that would make that enjoyable! And by all means, enjoy a little pizza! Blot it with a napkin, throw away the part of the crust you're not enjoying.
