we are always moving
moving up
moving out
moving on
moving over

i need more moving
not the kind that involves boxes
or graduations
or making room

the kind of moving that
leaves old habits behind
gets the heart pumping
changes lives

that kind of moving
is hard to do
consistently
perpetually
whole-heartedly
at least it is for me

one day i think
i have it licked
the next day the demons are back
moving in
trying to take control
undoing all the good
moving backward
not where i want to go

but today
is another day
to move forward
just one step
just 5000 steps
as long as i don't turnaround
and look back

moving on
to a healthier me
to a happier me
to a closet
filled with clothes that fit
not just to look out

moving on
moving forward
just moving....

Hi Grace :hi: I absolutely LOVED this poem!!! And, the best part is, that it is all speaking a corner-stone Truth of weight loss: To get moving, literally and figuratively, in the right direction! You can do this, given your clear perspective ( :clap: )! Just take it one day at a time, and the new habits will slowly build a momentum all their own and slowly begin to carry you to your new life.
