i can not relate
to thin people
who just want to be thinner
healthy people
who become unhealthy
because they think they are fat

i can not tolerate a size 8
wanting to be a size 4
insanity
obsessive
vain

do i look fat
they ask
as if i could possibly
think they do
wearing my size 22
just wanting to be a size 14

i pray for them
but i don't have time
to think they have a problem
when they don't
shame
on me
and on them

what must they think
of me and my stretch pants
but then i know
they don't think
of me
only themselves
or why would they ask
do i look fat
when they know i
couldn't possibly think they did

they say it is a disease
and for some i agree
it is

but for others it is
narcissistic
selfish
oblivious

but
aren't we all
in some way
on some days
the same

i can not tolerate
intolerance
so i will be quiet
and think of only me
in my size 22
working on size 14
a size
i could tolerate
yes, yes i could

:hi: Grace, Wow!, you developed a following overnight :afraid4:! I guess that I will have to visit the forum and see what has been going on =D!!!! I have been on both sides of this poem because as a teen, I had an eating disorder, and developed it with the purpose of getting thinner for the sake of thinner (I didn't care about my health). And now, I am on the fat and realistic side :). . . . Well, both sides have their humanity, but it is best to just want to be healthy for the sake of healthy. And, yes, you are correct: We need to focus on ourselves and our healthy goals if we want to succeed in this :smile1:. Take good care of yourself. Most sincerely, Kristen :heart1:

You're a wonderful poet! maybe you should put them all in a book? Good luck on your WL journey. You look like a happy, fun person who will only be happier and fun (ner) when you are healthier! Good luck. Sue
