sometimes i feel
like i don't do enough
to save the world
and do the things
a good citizen should do
when they see
something wrong
or something
that needs changing
or just to lend
a helping hand
to someone in need

i do give
to the charities
i believe in
and i always
donate used clothing
instead of simply
throwing them away
i am kind
to everyone around me
i feed the crew
working in my yard
i tip generously in restaurants
and to anyone whose service
i appreciate and use


sometimes i feel
like i don't do enough
to help my parents
call them more often
stop by more than i do
but i take care of all their bills
i shop for the things their
caretaker can't find
i call
often enough
i visit
as often as i can
i am there for them
whenever they need me
to be
i hold their hands
i try

sometimes i feel like
i am not putting in
all that i should
to this weight loss journey
wanting to eat less
because perhaps i should
wanting to work out more
because perhaps i would
lose weight
faster,
not too fast
just a bit more
but i know i like
my lifestlye now
i enjoy the foods i eat
and make the healthiest choices i can
and work out when i can
but never more than i should
because it's enough
at least it is for now
i hope

sometimes i feel
i am not as good a friend
as i should be
forgetting to call
forgetting to write
not seeing people
as often as i should
but then i am there for them
those i love
whenever
they need me
whenever
they want a helping hand
i am there to celebrate
their successes
and i offer a shoulder
when ever they ask
and sometimes
when they don't
but i know
it is what they want
i give my time
i give my heart
i give myself

pieces of grace
trying to be
the best i can be
doing all i can
to be what
everyone needs
me to be
and still find time
for myself
and ralph
and my blog
because it is important
to me

and sometimes i know
what i write
is not the best
and not unique
and not always profound
because every day
is different
and i am not sure
what piece of me
i have to offer
want to offer
as i begin to make my plans
and craft my words
into something
worth reading
because if it's not
i fail
myself mostly
and the pressure
i put on myself
to always be the best
when i know doing my best
is all that really matters
just sometimes
i forget

so forgive me
my ramblings today
i am short on inspiration
but, still i am inspired
and feel content
in the words i share
the piece of grace
i give to you today
