9/11
most of us
we'll never forget
this day
that changed
the course of this country
this day
of 100,000 heros
those who needlessly died
and those who selflessly gave
their mercy
their energy
their health
to save a life
to comfort a stranger
to find hope
in the pile
9/11
a day when
time stood still
where the nightmare
became our reality
and amid the smoke
and rubble
we clung to ideals
they tried to take away
but we didn't let them
no, we won't let them
not even today
because there's hope
that tomorrow
will be better
and terror
will not shadow
everything we do
and everywhere we go
the cloud is lifting
as we stand proud
and fight
the anger
they wanted us
to feel
the fear
they wanted us to
embrace
so our freedoms
didn't mean
anything, any more
9/11
and they lost
they did not
get what they came for
they did not break our spirit
they did not take our joys
they did not leave us weak
they did not take our hope
it lives
in our children
in our hearts
in our country
in the truths
we hold dear
in the living
we do every day
"There's Hope"
written and performed by India Arie
Back when I had a little
I thought that I needed a lot
A little was over rated,
but a lot was a little too complicated
You see-Zero didn't satisfy me
A million didn't make me happy
That's when I learned a lesson
That it's all about your perception
Hey-are you a pauper or a superstar
So you act, so you feel, so you are
It ain't about the size of your car
It's about the size of the faith in your heart
There's hope
It doesn't cost a thing to smile
You don't have to pay to laugh
You better thank God for that
There's hope
Off in the back country of Brazil
A met a young brother that made me feel
That I could accomplish anything.
You see just like me he wanted to sing
He had no windows and no doors
He lived a simple life and was extremely poor
On top of all of that he had no eye sight,
but that didn't keep him from seein' the light
He said, what's it like in the USA,
and all I did was complain
He said-livin' here is paradise
He taught me paradise is in your mind
You know that
Every time I turn on the T.V. (There's Hope)
Somebody's acting crazy (There's Hope)
If you let it, it will drive you crazy (There's Hope)
but I'm takin' back my power today (There's Hope)
Gas prices they just keep on rising (There's Hope)
The government they keep on lying
but we gotta keep on surviving
Keep living our truth and do the best we can do
Stand up for your rights
Keep shining your light
And show the world your smile
it's 1:07 am, but i won't be on line later today. i will spend the day with my dad. i will spend the day reflecting upon the abundance of my life despite what they tried to take away. honor the fallen, remember the brave, cherish our freedoms, live our lives. that's what we must do. peace.

I just returned from the city. I was there at 6AM. It is so sad. All flags are at half mast.
:cry4: Whatever is happening to you ,forget it for a moment....you can feel the sorrow.

My heart is heavy today for our losses. I miss seeing the towers in movies. In there absence, I always remember and say a prayer for our brothers and sisters and our great country.
