tomorrow always comes
the day of reckoning
the day when
we have to start
what we've put off
when we have to do
what we should have done
yesterday

tomorrow
is always no more
than 24 hours away
7 days a week
it's always there
at sunrise
beckoning us to
take charge
to do what we
mean to do
what we
plan to do
what we
absolutely
must do
someday
if not
today

today
i can make
a difference
i can take
charge
of my destiny
i can make choices
positive choices
to live
a better life
a healthy life
a grateful life
full of
hope and
promise
and belief
that today
is finally the day

today
i won't think
about all
i haven't done
or all
i should have done
yesterday
or the day before that
because those day
they are gone
they are
what they are
forever

i can't go back
and choose
the fish
instead of the rib eye
i can't drink water
instead of the bottle of wine
and i can't send back
the death by chocolate cake
it's decadent taste
still lingering
on my tongue
as i brush my teeth
before bed

tomorrow,
yes, tomorrow
always comes
teasing us
with her promise
of all things
are possible
and you know
you are strong
and can do anything
you want to do
just leave yesterday
where it belongs
and move forward

tomorrow
i have thousands
of them
under my belt
days
when i met
the challenges
presented to me
and others
when i did not
but still
i went to bed
confident
that another tomorrow
would shower me
with opportunities
again
and again
and they would be there
for my use
seize the day
i didn't always
succeed
but at least
i always tried

tomorrow
and the day after
still call to me
to make the best
of what life has to offer
no matter
how many mistakes
i make
today
or you
make today
we all get tomorrows
hopefully
many, many more
and though i can't undo,
i can right
a wrong
and give rise
to the greatness
inside of me
and flourish
once and for all
in as many things
as i believe possible

doable
i win
finally,
i win
