we are in hectic mode

working hard
enjoying every crazy minute

headed to stew leonard's
this morning
if you live in the ny and ct area
you know all about
what a stew leonard's is
a food mecca
with fresh produce and meats
and seafood
and breads
and prepared foods
layed out like a maze
in one way
out the other
amazing, simply amazing
entertaining,
a spectacle,
huge
and crowded
more than you can imagine

before 8:00 am
opening time
a full parking lot
a line of traffic
back to the ny thruway
and the doors were still closed
hilarious, simply hilarious

leaving my impatience behind
and my umbrella in hand!
i watched people
to pass the time
it was pouring rain
not very christmassy
so
for some
it was torture
others took it in stride
what did you expect?
no one else preparing
for the feast
2 days of feasts?
smile,
it will all be over soon
ah, tis the season

i have a cold
and a cough
the annoying kind
that wears you down
and keeps you up at night
and your hunny too
but i fight it
i am too busy
to stop
for a little cold

so last night
we went to a party
a fun one
with lots of friends
(i hugged a lot)
and lots of food
(i ate a bit)
and wine
(i drank a bit)
and music
(i danced and sang a lot)
so now my voice is gone too
ah, tis the season
still, i love it
everything about it

the twinkling lights
on houses and trees
decorated
with memories
and egg nog
the smiles
on children
big and small
waiting for santa
with eyes
as bright
as the star
you know the star
i mean?
ah, tis the season
and the reason
we are who we are
and do what we do
every december
the pointsettias
and gingerbread
and mistletoe
all things christmas

yes, tis the season
i can't wait to do it all again
next year
after 365 days
of rest....
