View SAXONHARP's food & exercise for this day
2 days of weighing in, in the moring AND loggin all my food. Back down to 216. Confirms what I need to do to see 213 this month!
I am enjoying my 3 days of week of running right now. It is a nice break and am liking the cross training I am doing.
Thanks to all of you for your support. I sure do appreciate it.
My 14 year old daughter came to me asking me for help to get her on some kind of exercise plan. I thought that was nice. I am worried about her. I can tell that she is putting on a little more weight. I just want to be careful and not push her too hard. I told her she right now to add 3 days of exercise for the week to start and just to really work on looking at what she eats. She said that she is trying to cut down on food by herself. I am going to talk to her if she wants to start writing what she eats down. Again I want to be careful, I want her to take baby steps. At 14 I was heavier than she was. Sigh.....I just don't want her to have to lose over one hundred pounds like I have too....

That's great, you will see 213.
I was heavy at 14 too and it is all about the approach.
I took my nephews out for breakfast and one of them asked if they could get pancakes and a bagle and I said no and explained why and he was like oh I get it.
Glad he did and he was ok with it. Lucky enough he doesn't have an oz of fat on him, but just because he can eat whatever he wants now doesn't mean it will last.
I am proud of your daughter for asking for some help.

I like the idea of signing her up at the Y or getting her a Wii fit or something like that. I think it's awesome she learns good nutrition from you.

Baby steps is good. She'll come along with your support when she's ready - until then be there and keep being such a great example. Great job on the logging and scale by the way.

I think about that age I started going to our local Y to exercise. I was always a little chubbier as a kid. I will say somewhere around the summer after my Sophmore year in HS I just leaned out all of a sudden. I think a lot of kids are like that.
I'm back on the logging and measuring bandwagon as well.
