View SAXONHARP's food & exercise for this day

Last week, same story, super busy at work and super busy running around at home.

I did a good/better job logging my food this past week. I was able to stay within the CK nutrient recommendations probably about 70% of the week. My only down fall was having too large of a serving of a sweet treat each night. It was not a binge but just larger than I planned. I need to really focus on eating slower so I don’t feel like I need to have another serving. Overall on food I am feeling good about my good choices. The past few weeks I have been working on decreasing the sugar in meals throughout the day – not using agave, pure maple syrup etc to sweeten my steel cut oats, greek yogurt, etc.. I have switch to using dried fruit or fresh fruit instead. I have also been working on watching my carbs. In general I am following the nutrient guidelines that CK recommends. I am happy about these small changes I am making. They are definitely becoming more of a habit. On Sunday we went to Six Flags to get our season passes and on the way home we stopped by a convenience store to get a drink (that is one thing I do need I am trying to work on.....decreasing the diet soda, I probably average 3 cans a day now). The girls wanted a snack. I was hungry too and looked and looked for something and I got…..a banana. I usually would have picked up a pre packaged food or something BUT I really wanted the banana instead.

I did my first 10K of the summer. As my running coach said this 10k was “Just a rust buster to get back to racing.” I actually had a tiny PR by 10 seconds! My time was 1:04:34 and my previous best time was 1:04:49. It was a hilly route, especially the last 2 miles. I felt good overall. I do like my new garmin. I am still learning everything BUT I love how easy it is to load the data to garmin connect and you can see all the great data (splits, elevation, etc.). Last Tuesday was the first week of speed work. It was good. I am no longer one of the last 4 people in. I have moved up in the pack a little:)

So there are a lot of good things happening but my weight is not reflecting it at all. I was at 222 last Tuesday and during the week my weight went to 224!!! This morning it was 223. I still feel very good. Shorts that gave me a little muffin top last summer fit perfect this year. I know baby steps but I cannot believe I gained….grrr. I am pretty motivated though so I will continue all the good nutrition and play around with the calories to make sure I have enough BUT not too much.. If I don’t see results in a couple of weeks then I might sign up with the nutritionist for a month again.

The weight will come eventually, look at all the amazing habits you have formed. That is fantastic and something I hope to achieve.
