i married the love
of my life
this is a day
of hope
that i never gave up on
of dreams
that i always knew
would come true
of a romance
that happens
only in fairtales
of a love
that will never
fade away
this is a day
of patience
what seemed
a lifetime
of waiting
for special someone
now seems like a blur
as i try to remember
my life
without
this wonderful man
and sometimes
i just can't
he makes me happy
and
we are happy
together
he makes me laugh
and we laugh together
almost every day
he makes me glad
that i never gave up
on love
and passion
in my life
because
now i have it
after all those
years alone
i have
what every girl
dreams of
and i am content
yes, i am
i was 46
and he was 48
when we first met
each living
in separate worlds
miles apart
but still so close
each searching
for that part
of our plan
the missing
piece to lives
otherwise complete
but still looking
for the love
true love
we both knew
we should have
and fate
and god
nothing else
played a hand
to put us together
an unlikely match
in an unlikely place
and we were smitten
from the moment
he saw my eyes
and i watched him smile
and we both knew
tomorrow
would mean together
and it did
we never looked back
so love
it's in my life
and i celebrate it
every day
and promise it
every night
and believe
that good things
do eventually come
for those of us who wait
i tell you
don't give up
because passion
will be there
when you least expect it

with open arms
