...isn't that a techno song from the 90's?

It IS 3 am, and I can't sleep. I woke up from an intense dream about Steve. The kind of dream I'm sure I had after I divorced AJ - where you sudden develop an overwhelming desire for a person mainly because they've decided they don't need you anymore. Obviously Steve hasn't done that in real life, but he did in the dream. It was disconcerting. Steve and I are celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary tomorrow evening, so I imagine my subconscious ...

Stealing a few moments....

Wednesday, September 5th 2007

...before Will goes to bed. We just got back from the church ice cream social. I'm so shy at events like that. The whole point is to meet people, and I just sit there with Will like a lump on a log. I need alcohol to make me gregarious. And a) I can't have any right now, and b) its not usually served at church socials. At least not at any churches I've been to. You know you are pregnant when...

Sunday, September 2nd 2007

...you lose your car in the parking lot for the first time in your life. Seriously. I've never understood how a person can forget where they parked. And there weren't THAT many rows to choose from so it wasn't as if I needed to remember "Aligator Section, Green Row, Spot 17." Good thing I'm not a rocket scientist or brain surgeon in real life.

From now on, when I see a pregnant woman wandering the parking lot, I will know what her problem is. :)

So I don't forget: "fa-da&...

An angel...

Saturday, September 1st 2007

My son is an angel. This weekend, anyway. We got up early and went to the Children's Museum in downtown St. Paul. He was self directed but receptive to my suggestions for activities, he walked from and to the car on his own, and was, in general, a joy to be with.

I have been fascinated with his communication development since he was born, but especially so since he began to use signs and words. He is becoming very articulate and has what seems to me to be an advanced ability to put things i...
