View LYNNABEL's food & exercise for this day
S and I are slowly getting our marital feet back under our selves. Its been a long week in that regard. We watched THE OFFICE last night together after Will went down, which is unheard of recently in our routine, but a step towards some more regular together-time. We have date night this Saturday, which will be another chance to be alone together.
I had MOPS last night, which was fine. Will did well in the nursery, which I was thankful for since he wasnt super impressed with it the last time. Its always a relief to pick him and hear that he did well.
At MOPS, we decoupaged clear plates intended to be our familys special event plates and Im torn about this. On the one hand, really how infantile for a bunch of grown women to sit around doing crafts that most kindergarteners could do. I would rather have a really engaging speaker or group discussions on what it means to be a mom, a wife, a woman
on the other hand, decoupaging is fairly relaxing from turn-the-mind-off standpoint, which is something I really need more of. I just get concerned that women are turning towards these types of activities as a source regeneration when ideally there should be a wider choice of more complex/intellectual/thought-provoking options out there for us. And there are. I guess I need to remember that this is a particular group, with particular commonalities, particular goals/contexts and that it isnt necessarily representative of the universe of womens interactions.
Work is insane. Its makes the prospect of a newborn baby sound relaxing.

try starting that conversation during your next tea party and see how they react... might be a couple of them are thinking the same thing you are.

Glad things are coming together for you and S. I had no doubts!
 But, Lynnie? DECOUPAGE? SERIOUSLY? OK, I won't trod on a little mindless fun -- I know how good it can be just to "turn off" sometimes. Please be vigilant about further forays into Craft World, though, ok?
