View LYNNABEL's food & exercise for this day
Drizzly/dreary day today. But I get to work from home so I feel cozy. Unfortunately, I have no attention span.
Ellie had a friend tell her she didn't want to be her friend anymore. Ellie was sobbing, and it made me think of myself in 2nd grade - it was awful, the girl cliques. I talked through it with El, we listed some things she could do. Told her I loved her and was so sorry that had happened. I asked her what she did when her friend said that, and she said, "I just walked away." (I mentally prepped the Tori bat). Then, she came home the next day, and said, "Guess what?! Willa apologized, and wants to go to the school fun night with me." I told her that was wonderful, and asked her if she told Willa that she had hurt her feelings. "No. She just apologized on her own." Ellie is a class act, I tell ya. I did try to emphasize (while also trying not to seem too hysterical about it) that Ellie would be perfectly in the right to politely but firmly tell Willa her feelings had been hurt. I don't want my daughter not to be able to tell someone that. Its hard for a lot of us girls to do that, though. Myself included.
I think Will has a crush on a new girl in his class. He has this ADORABLE smile that is half embarrassed/half sh!t-eating grin with dimples that makes my heart melt. I asked him if he ever talked to her. "No!" he said, semi-appalled. "Do you talk to boys in your class, mom?" "Yep, all the time." He was very skeptical.

It is interesting and she has small exercises in each chapter that help identify the things we do that sap willpower and things we can do to enhance it. Good stuff.
I was surprised at having the identical eyeliner dream twice. Once when I took a nap and again when I went to bed. Too funny.

I never have an attention span any more. I wish I could blame it on something like having done LSD or some such.
Man do I ever remember the awkward crush days.
