Ive been using some of the under-3 techniques from Love and Logic with Will and have found them to be fairly effective, as long as I can keep my cool, which Ive generally been able to do. It was such a good recommendation from Michelle. Even when I cant quite keep my cool, Im able to use the techniques anyway, and keep myself or the situation from escalating too far. Im feeling very challenged by being Wills mother right. I dont want to go into too many specifics for fear of being misunderstood, but Im just at a loss with him, his behavior, and my reaction to it. I am praying that this stage passes quickly. I havent read any particular helpful advice online or in my child development books or from my own past or others experiences. I have never liked it when people say, Until youre a parent, you dont know (fill in the blank) as if all non-parents are ignorant or blissful or all parents can claim vast stretches of experience and knowledge (if only, right?) or suffering, but I did get to thinking about Dawn saying, self-critically, that I have the same 24 hours that everyone else does and, no, she actually doesnt.
